Hi, I'm Rob and I like video games and what I like most about them is the technology that's driving them. Or, well, that's how it used to be. Today's video games are commonly powered by one of the market leading game engines with little custom technology built for the game at hand - and that's fine. But there's still people who want to do things themselves and understand all the nitty gritty details. I try to provide the tools for that.
Kha, Kinc and Krom are a family of programming toolkits which make it easy to implement games, game engines or even just general GPU based tools and creative coding projects in a portable way. Each of the toolkits focuses on a different programming language (Haxe, C/C++ and JavaScript) and all of them contain a shader-cross-compiler based on SPIRV-Cross and a modern GPU-API which maps OpenGL, Direct3D9/11/12, Vulkan, Metal and console specific APIs. It's all on GitHub at https://github.com/Kode
The most impressive projects powered by my tools are currently https://armory3d.org and https://rpgplayground.com with hopefully more to come.
